: Awww hell now that's just wrong! I didn't even get through Ukanos
yet and was prepping up to get this one too, no fair! This severely sucks!
First they canceled the DMC game for PSP, then the Resident Evil game
they planned, now they canceled the official version of Monster Hunter 3 next?!

It doesn't say it is canceled. Just unlikely. They are looking for other ways they'll release it here.
They could simply just have an English option in the Japanese version and make the UMD universal (if PSP is picky on the region). Then people that want it could just buy it from overseas.

I don't know if discussion of Custom Firmware is allowed here, but if any of you are interested, and have official firmware 6.35 or lower, feel free to contact me. I managed to get an english patched version of the game working on the PSP 3k, and it works for all other systems as well. Even Go.
Re: MHP3 probably wont be making it stateside.
: Oh, I don't mind, but my PSP took those annoying updates, lol.
As for this case still, I wonder if the Capcom corporation did this because of being under attack by a horde of Rathalos' or Ukalos himself?

While I have no idea why they insist upon screwing the western audience over, they did lose a major figure among their ranks, also known as the creator of Megaman and Dead Rising among other capcom games. Keiji Inafune left them late last year, so I don't know if that has anything at all to do with it, but still.
Re: MHP3 probably wont be making it stateside.
while I don't (and probably never will) own a PSP, it would be strange if Capcom does decide not to bring MHP3 to the west.
I mean, we've got the original MH3 for the Wii, so why not bring its 'expantion' over too?

Sounds like it actually does make sense to me on that case... Oh btw, why is it that Monster Hunter series seems to have elements like in Megaman Legends?
(dodge roll invincibility for a short time, Boss-eye warning when under attack by a large enemy, getting slammed around and having very slow recovery, enemies doing crazy damage, etc.)

agreeded I played MH Tri for the Wii and I did not like it, infact its sitting on my shelf at the moment asking me to return it, borrowed Gods Eater Burst for the PSP of a friend and that game is so much better

Different strokes for different folks, so they say. I've been meaning to try out GEB for a while now, it does look interesting.
Re: MHP3 probably wont be making it stateside.
would be nice if y'all could join me online as well i been playing GEB online last few weeks, and it's much better than playing solo lol

Re: MHP3 probably wont be making it stateside.
Is it set up on a network, or ad-hoc only? Because currently the PSN/PS3's ad-hoc party is still fubar.
Re: MHP3 probably wont be making it stateside.
it's an extra program/setup you need to get on your computer called xlink kai. it basically connects your psp (or any other video game system that's compatible) to an online server that simulates an ad hoc environment throughout the world. i will tell you it's a bitch to set up, but once you get it working, you can play with people just about anywhere. i've played GEB with someone from california, korea, and even a guy who was in the navy or something on his ship

Re: MHP3 probably wont be making it stateside.
: TBH, I like them both though I've never had MH-Tri and do
plan on getting God Eater Burst soon (depending on how things).... like
in the next two weeks or so, along with Lord of Arcana. All of them are
great series. I even noticed how I sometimes compare Phantasy Star
Portable 2 to Monster Hunter Unite, lol (especially around those high-
ranking areas! The SEED get as brutish as those elder dragons &
G-Rank monsters when lvl 78+ at those A to S class missions!)
Seriously do hope they sometime soon change their minds and release
something up to date for the MH series, but I can see that since the PSN
was hacked by some stupid buffoon, they will be severely delayed on
any and all upcoming release(s) for anything else for a while.
