Playstation 3 General Questions

: Ah so to admit this week things have changed and now my gaming
list just got a much more broader borderline expansion. We now have a PS3 so I
would like to ask a LOT of questions of it in general. Around a week from now I
might expand the list of games for it starting with Ragnarok Odyssey: ACE on the
PS3 since it can cross-play with Vita users (such as me) and then that there's a
chance I could use it on the bigger screen at times too.  

So far what I've got are:
Ratchet: Deadlocked (Free random bonus? Already have it on PS2 directly but I'm not going to say "no" to it!  )
God of War: Ascension (Specifically for fellow user: Igarax, but I too will try it out some time)
Soul Calibur: Lost Souls (major letdown...)
Tekken: Revolution (another letdown...)
Dead or Alive 5: Ultimate Core (not checked)

Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault (Vita)

Now my questions start. I will even leave ones I already figured out here anyway in case you experts have a better gist of how to do things than I did as a start.

-What is "Cross-Control" mode (PS Vita to PS3)?
The Vita is asking for this now that I registered it to the PS3 for the first time; however, all I get is "Step 1: Go within your Playstation 3 system and access software that activates cross-controller function. It will go to a dual-screen mode."
....okay but where is that??

-Cross Buy has been done before hand with a game (R&C:FFA) but when I get to it, why does it say to connect it to the Vita again?
I already have installed Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault on Vastell's PS Vita but I thought when they said "Cross buy" that means it can be played on the PS3 as well; however, when I download it, this happens. Is this only Vita-possible or am I not finding something yet?

-When doing the Download-to-buy move, does this count only for the active user or does it affect everyone on the same console?
For X-Box 360, if one gets it, everyone's got it. The question is that if this counts for Playstation 3 as well? From the looks of it, I don't think it's as friendly; however, the only things purchased were small avatars as a difference, not games yet (not enough meseta. lol) but before I get too confident, I want to know if it's as friendly as its rival or not?

-Playstation 3 Controllers can be connected to a computer too.
Okay, but what about Windows 8.1?  Phantasy Star Online 2 is NOT picking it up, nor is Mugen or any other games yet even though the PC says via Control Pannel: Devices that it DOES notice it. I checked for a YT reference but the program doesn't seem to look as accurate as the one at the top of the list and of course, not working either, and I checked both the 32 bit type and the 64 bit type (which mine is using) but no-deal.

With controlers it's not a windows 8 thing as mine has problems picking them up as well sometimes. Make sure that you plug it in before starting the game and that your computer says that it's installed before you try to play with it.

as for downloaded games I think the account that owns it needs to be the active account, i'm not sure. It might be like the xbox where the account that owns it only needs to be on the system.

For cross control it either means go into settings and turn it on, or play a game that excepts the vita as a crontroler.

: Oh, also another problem up. How do I connect it to a PC via Remote Play for Windows 8.1+?
I looked and it says some Vaio programs are out but they don't work.  

No Idea as I don't own a ps3.

(first post in years) well, i finally got me a ps3 the other day, and wanted to add our esteemed admin to my buddies list. even though we don't share any games, lol. i had thought there was once a section for us to share our PSN ids, but i guess it got nuked? *shrugs* but with her under her current status, i'll most likely ask her when she's back on steam in a few days

In order to share digital games, you need to be on the same PS3. I'm not sure what the restrictions are as to how many ps3s any one account can be on.

in regards to that, basically you're limited to 2 systems per account. you can have as many accounts on one system, but each individual person can only share with 2 systems. you can disable the system from your list, but idk if that would lock out the games downloaded once the account is disabled and synced with the psn servers

If it works like the psp (it should) then yes, but the games will still be there.

yeah, the games are still there, but would anyone other than the account who owns the game be able to access them, given that their account was taken off the list of allowed systems. once the ps3 gets access to psn and syncs up, i would imagine that the license files, which allow the game to be launched, would become void, and the games installed can't be accessed anymore

To be honest I can't say as I don't own a ps3 to test any of this on, and even if I currently had my friends on loan I don't have any games for ps3 to test it with.
